Community Works - A Registered Charity

Helping the people of Thirsk for twenty years

Community Works supports people in need across Thirsk and the surrounding area. Passionate about those they serve.

Situated at 14a Market Place - YO71LB.

I wish to shine a light on just one of the valuable services provided by the charity - CAR SHARE.
The scheme aims to assist individuals in accessing essential transportation for hospital visits, doctor and dentist appointments, and important meetings. This service is especially beneficial for those who lack access to a car, face challenges using public transport due to health or mobility issues, or need to travel to areas with limited transport options.

Key Features of the Thirsk Car Share Scheme:

  • Volunteer Drivers: Local volunteers generously offer their time and vehicles to help fulfill transportation needs.
  • Affordability: The service is typically available at a low cost, with passengers only contributing to fuel expenses.
  • Accessibility: It provides support to individuals who encounter difficulties in accessing public transportation, particularly those in rural or remote areas.
  • Community Focus: The scheme is designed to strengthen community connections by enabling local volunteers to assist neighbors in need.

It's incredible how much this service helps people of Thirsk.
